Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage uses firm pressure and slow stroking movements to relieve stress, muscle tension and soreness, massaging the deeper layers of muscle and fascia.  It can relieve areas of tension resulting from previous injury or overuse and help to promote relaxation and sleep.

A deep tissue massage is more similar to a sports massage than a gentle aromatherapy massage.  I ask clients to complete a health questionnaire before the treatment, to identify areas of discomfort they would like me to work on and to discuss any health problems that may limit treatment.

A back only deep tissue massage takes about an hour, while a full treatment takes about 90 minutes.  I use unscented oil as standard, but can add essential oils if desired.
